FINal pass field

Final Pass Field (“El Campo”) is more than grass and goals—it is a place where access, opportunity, and belonging meet.

The field was born from a 2021 vision led by Representative Kevin Mannix to create a true community asset for East Salem: a space designed not for exclusivity, but for shared use and lasting impact. With support from local foundations and the State of Oregon, that vision took physical form at the East Salem Community Center.

Installed by Pacific Sports Turf, Final Pass Field is one of the premier 9v9 grass fields in Oregon—built with care, quality, and longevity in mind. From its earliest planning stages, Capital Futbol Club was consulted alongside Mannix and the construction team to help ensure the field would serve both the game and the broader community well.

In late 2025, Capital Futbol Club and the East Salem Community Center entered into an agreement for CFC to manage the field—stewarding it in alignment with its original purpose.

A Place for the Final Pass

Final Pass Field will primarily support CFC’s Final Pass programs—initiatives designed to remove barriers, expand access, and ensure that cost, circumstance, or background are never the reason a young person is left out of the game. The name reflects a belief at the heart of our work: that sometimes all someone needs is one final opportunity, one more pass, to move forward.

The field will also be home to a network of community partners, including the YMCA, nearby Boys & Girls Clubs, and Head Start Preschool, which will utilize the space during daytime hours. In addition, the field will be available for community rentals—welcoming families, teams, and organizations to make it their own.

A Shared Asset, A Lasting Legacy

Final Pass Field exists to be used, shared, and loved. It is a place where first touches happen, friendships are formed, confidence is built, and communities gather. Rooted in East Salem and open to all, the field stands as a reminder that the best spaces are not defined by who they exclude—but by who they invite in.
