The mission of Capital Fútbol Club (CFC) is to strengthen our community by developing youth, in and around the Salem area, into strong competent individuals, becoming the best they can be both on and off the field. In service of this goal we use soccer, quality coaching, and a positive environment to promote the value of hard work, personal integrity, and self-discipline among other life transferable skills. 

This year nearly 6,000 youth ages 3-18 engaged in the fun and healthy process of playing soccer through CFCs supervised soccer programs. Currently, over 40% of CFC players come from families who are at or below the federal poverty line.

CFC is always growing, seeking to reach new and higher goals. This past year, we have seen scholarship applications drastically increase, we have enriched each of our youth programs, brought back GRASSP (an after school program within the SKSD) ,continued developing the Youth Referee Academy, and continued our efforts with our capital campaign. With one-hundred percent of The Soccer Ball & Benefit Auction proceeds going towards this growth, we aim to make a lasting impact on the lives of not just our youth but our community as a whole.

By saying CFC is “more than a soccer club” we mean that we strive to:

• Use soccer as a way to teach transferable life skills such as discipline, teamwork, emotional health, and identifying then strengthening weaknesses.

• Help kids take charge of their education – we use soccer as a means to keep youth not only engaged with school but actively help them get into college, some of whom would be the first in their family to attend.

• Care for the disadvantaged – we use soccer as a way to care for those in our community who need it most. We provide scholarships to nearly 70% of our players – 40% of whom are at or below the poverty line.

• Creating a network of positive relationships – soccer has a unique ability to bring together people of all backgrounds. These relationships become some of the most important in kids’ lives and follow them well beyond their time at CFC.
