REPORT A CONCERN

Capital FC’s mission is to develop excellent soccer players and responsible citizens, using soccer as a vehicle to change kids’ lives. We seek to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all kids and families and will not tolerate discrimination against any individual on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, or sexual orientation.

From time to time problems or conflicts may arise during a season. These may involve issues related to soccer, or they may relate to issues around the game such as concerns with bullying, concerning feedback from your player, etc.

The most important thing to remember in handling these problems or conflicts is proper communication. Communication is usually the problem and most often the solution.

If you would like to get more information about club policies, procedures, or how things are handled, please visit this page.

Procedure for Reporting Problems

The following procedure is meant for dealing with most problems.

*Any matters related to violations of the SafeSport Code should not only involve your coach but should also include the club Executive Director and Board. Anyone may report a SafeSport concern at any time via their online form or hotline (uscenterforsafesport.org/report-a-concern).

Step 1: Report to Coach

When a problem arises, the club would like you to please first to discuss the issue with your team head coach. Most of the time, problems and issues may be solved at this level of team communication.

We do ask that you do not approach the coach on any problems or conflicts before, during, or immediately after the game. We ask that you wait 24 hours before approaching the coach after a match or a training session. We also ask the coach to wait for 24 hours before responding.

Step 2: Report to Director of Coaching

If after consulting with the coach, you still feel that additional attention to the problem is needed, then you should refer the matter to the Capital FC Director of Coaching, Joe Wentworth (joe@capitalfctimbers.com).

Step 3: Report to Executive Director and Board

If you still feel that the problem has not been resolved, you can write an email to the Executive Director (collin@cfcsalem.com) and Board President (benje@cfcsalem.com), who will review the issue within the Programs Committee and make a final decision on how to resolve the issue. You will receive an initial response within 48 hours. Depending on the nature of the issue, the timeline for resolution may vary.
